Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has become something of a buzzword in the health and wellness space, but unlike fad diets that have no legs to stand on, this trend has gained a loyal following for good reason. Coconut oil is rich in MCTs, a type of fatty acid that aids in promoting satiety. It means that your cup of coffee won’t only just energise you, but keep you full for longer as well. It also creates a creamy texture, so lots of people love it by combining coconut oil and coffee in your blender. This allows the oil to emulsify and create a delicious, creamy coconut latte, as opposed to stirring it in which might create a greasy mess.

Collagen Powder

A favourite of many, collagen powder is an easy addition you can make to your daily coffee to help retain a youthful glow. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and it’s an important one, too. It’s not only responsible for skin hydration and elasticity, but also aids in nail strength and joint health, amongst other things. As we age, we lose some of this natural supply of collagen so adding it back in supplement form is a must.

The powder can be purchased from countless retailers and all you need to do is add it to your coffee. For those who like to buy coffee on the go, put a teaspoon of the collagen powder into your keep cup and have the baristas fill up the rest. Collagen is super versatile and dissolves instantly in hot or iced coffee.

Maca powder

This root is cultivated in the Andes in the mountains of Peru and has been used for decades for medicinal and culinary purposes. There’s good reason that it’s taken off in the western world and that’s due to what many perceive to be a significant improvement in balancing hormones and brain function as a result of taking maca powder. It also provides an array of vitamins, minerals and amino acids, and helps to nourish the body. You can add it to coffee rather simply, through powder form, and the good news is it has a nutty, sometimes caramel-y taste. Ideally, you shoulder consume maca first thing in the morning, making it a perfect addition to your morning cup of coffee.

Medicinal Mushrooms

Ok, mushrooms in coffee? No thanks. But hear us out, medicinal mushrooms are next level good for you, plus they also have a great taste. Things like reishi, chug, turkey tail and cordyceps are excellent coffee add-ins and aside from a slight earthiness that most come to love in their morning brew, there isn’t a funky taste at all. These medicinal mushrooms have countless antioxidants and beta-glucan, which is a soluble fibre that helps regulate immune function, improve insulin sensitivity, and manage cholesterol levels.
