Over the last couple of months, trainers have become more creative with the apparatus they use for their home workouts. With most having no access to fitness equipment, PTs are looking to the pantry and other house hold goods for inspiration.
We've already seen the water bottle workout and the chair routine but now you can add a skateboard shred to that list.
Trainer Jay T. Maryniak is using his trusty four-wheeled companion for a killer core workout in the comfort of his own space and our abs already hurt from watching the footage.
"If you have a board then definitely get after these movements," Maryniak wrote in the post's caption. "Your core will be torched after these!"
Maryniak's skateboard workout includes variations on a sliding plank walkout and a sliding pulldown – similar to mountain climbers, ab rollers and typical pilate moves with a focus on your core stability. When you're giving it a crack, make your you keep your spine neutral and slow down the movement to keep yourself stable.
You don't need a skateboard for this particular workout, you can use anything that slides like paper on a wooden floor.
