It's no secret that people get horny when they drink. Your inhibitions lower (as do your standards), the smart parts of your brain start to slow down and your thirst for sex skyrockets.
But have you ever wondered why your sex drive differs after a few beers compared to a few tequila shots? That's because your brain reacts differently to different types of alcohol.
However, you don't have to taste-test every type of alcohol to see what works best for you because scientists have figured it out.
According to recent research published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, those who drink moderate amounts of red wine have higher sex drives than those who opt for beer, or a vodka sunrise for that matter.
The study found that participants who drank two glasses of red wine a day had much higher testosterone levels than those who didn't drink red wine. This clearly shows their increased libido, as testosterone is the hormone which makes you horny.
What's the science behind it? Well, apparently, quercetin in the wine blocks the UGT2B17 enzyme, which main function is to flush testosterone out of your body. So with increased levels of testosterone flowing through your blood stream, you're bound to get horny.
But that's not all – red wine has also been proven to make women horny as it increases blood flow to her erogenous zones, in turn increasing arousal and sensitivity in the area.
So forget the whiskey (and the dreaded whiskey dick) – red wine's on the menu tonight.
