Harley-Davidson has a problem: how do you lure new riders onto one of their bikes when they actually don’t want a whopping great Harley?

Harley solves the problem: enter the 2018 Street Rod, Harley’s new 750 ride.

This is not a sit-back-and-cruise-along-the-highway kind of bike. So what is this bike? Is it classic Harley? Is it taking advantage of current tech and ergonomics? 

In fact, this bike ticks both boxes. The sporty, upright seating position and aggressive front with an almost café racer back-end melds modern cool with old school power. 

There is much to love about this bike. It’s perfect for city riding, agile and nimble to manoeuvre when lane splitting. But it also provides a strong presence that brings a level of safety only Harley owners know, meaning, it still has the noise and power of a freaking Harley in 750cc liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-twin.

Harley have managed to create the perfect “inbetweener” bike. Comfortable but powerful, aggressive but controlled, big presence in a condensed package. Saying it’s a great city bike doesn’t mean it’s not great on the twisties or the open road. It performs when put through all the paces.

Should you get one? It’s a Harley that costs less than $13,000! Of course, you should get one. You get the heritage, you get the tech, you get the sound, you get the strength. At the very least go test ride and find out for yourself.
