The world has gotten its first taste of director Seth Gordon’s adaptation of the Nineties TV show Baywatch, with the official trailer being released earlier today.
And not only do females (and males – hey, they’re good looking blokes) all over the globe get their chance to see these two specimens shirtless throughout the entire film, this movie actually looks pretty damn good.
The trailer opens highlighting Johnson’s take on David Hasselhoff’s classic role as head lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, leader of the Los Angeles County Lifeguards. His boss confronts him about city council is cutting back funding for their lifeguard team so they’ll need to rebrand Baywatch.

Who do they turn to? None other than gold medalist Matt Brody, played by Efron, who gets hired as a PR stunt to draw more interest in the team. Brody and Buchannon bump heads when a dead body turns up on the beach they aim to protect.
With special appearances from the man himself David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, this is shaping up to be one of the rare successful remakes of an older show.
