Vegetarians Are Having A Lot Less Sex Than Meat Eaters

As if getting to eat meat wasn’t rewarding enough in itself, a new survey has uncovered that eating meat equals more regular sex. In fact, the results were not even close. Meat eaters are almost 3 times more likely to have sex at least once per week.

The (most likely biased) results come from a survey conducted by the Gourmet Meat Club, so vegetarians can take the results like they take their kale… with a grain of salt. Whilst not a scientific study, the GMC did survey over 2000 men and women on their sexual habits, resulting in some surprising findings.

According to the results, only 16 per cent of vegetarians have sex regularly (at least once a week), while a huge 42 per cent of meat eaters satisfied this minimum. Although the survey provides no scientific explanation as to why this seems to be the case, the results will no doubt add fuel to the fire when it comes to debate on the subject.

The competitive banter between meat and plant eaters continues to rage, and whilst the environmental benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle are overwhelmingly positive, these sex-based results are yet another blow for team plant.

It was recently discovered by Austrian scientists from the Institute of Social Medicine and Epidemiology, Medical University Graz that there can be serious harmful consequences as a result of vegetarianism. “Our results showed that a vegetarian diet is associated with poorer health (higher incidences of cancer, allergies, and mental health disorders), a higher need for health care, and poorer quality of life,” conclude the researchers.

Discovering diet’s link to sex frequency may not be enough to turn a vego to meat, but with these statistics mounting up, it may be tempting to switch teams.
