Speaking to news.com.au, Kozryrski revealed he’d dropped 13kg during his stay on the island.

“And probably most of it muscle, because I wasn’t carrying that much extra weight when I walked in. I’m still working on getting it back. The recovery for something like this is just so long,” he said.

“When you’re just watching your muscles deflate, and everyone’s saying ‘Gee, you’re looking skinny…’ All those hours of hard work, all the money you’ve spent on food and supplements, to watch it all waste away– it’s heartbreaking!”

Kozyrski isn’t the first contestant to undergo a dramatic body transformation after appearing on the show.

Last year, former AFL star Shaun Hamspon revealed he dropped 10kg in just 32 days while David Genat described himself as “skeleton” when he found out he shed 11kg during his stay.

The Richmond ruckman was horrified at his weight loss.

“That is bad… it’s 12 years since I’ve been at that sort of weight,” he told news.com.au at the time.

Hamspon also said he was told to his remove his shirt and look at himself in the mirror, a “confronting” experience for the retired footy player.

We’re confident Kozyrski will be able to regain his physique fairly rapidly given his knowledge of exercise and nutrition, but for most such a quick drop in weight is never safe.
