It’s 5am and I’ve got to catch a train to the airport. I’m being flown to Budapest to spend the weekend shooting for a couple of porn sites who have specifically requested me some upcoming scenes.
It’s a surreal experience for me. Growing up a shy nerdy kid in a small country town in Western Australia, truth be told I never really thought I could become a porn star. It was one of those things you just fantasise about all the time but you think ,“Well I haven’t got a 12” dick so there’s no way I can be a porn star.” So instead my way of indulging in all my sexual fantasies was to get involved in the swinging scene. Oddly enough it was through swinging that I was able to build up the necessary experience and confidence in group situations that would eventually lead to me making it in the industry.

Through the swinging scene I met several girls who worked in the adult industry and they kept telling me I should try porn. After hearing this enough times I gave the idea a lot of thought and finally decided, “f*ck it, if I died tomorrow, the one thing I would regret more than anything else would be not trying this out.”
One of the girls I had met put me in touch with a director in Melbourne and after some cold pitching via email, I had my first scene booked in. Flash forward one year later and I’m now the first Aussie male porn star to have shot for big name companies like Brazzers, Dorcel, Babes, Fake Taxi, Fake Driving School and about a dozen others.
A Typical Day On Set
Every website and producer you shoot for has a different way of going about things. You never really know what to expect unless you’ve worked with them before. But a typical day on a high budget set will actually involve a LOT of waiting around. The girls you’re working with will be in wardrobe getting their makeup done for the first hour or two, then the crew will be busy setting up the lighting and positioning furniture for the scene.
You’ll busy yourself by filling out all your paperwork, signing model release forms and checking out the sexual health test of your co-star so you both know you’re clean and healthy (tests are typically 14 days old at most). Most of the time while you’re waiting around you’ll just have a laugh with your co-star, practice your lines together if there's a lot of dialogue to remember and generally get comfortable with each other before the scene starts.

It always helps to figure out how to get your co-star to relax, how to flirt with her in the right way that’ll create that spark between the two of you that you can build on once the camera starts rolling. One of the funny things they never tell you about porn before you get into it is that they shoot all the photo stills separately from the video. You’ll work with the photographer and figure out which positions you’re going to do when the camera starts rolling and then you and your co-star will f*ck in each position but you’ll freeze mid-f*cking when the photographer is ready to take a photo. Then you’ll both get dressed and get ready to do it all over again once the lighting has been repositioned and the cameraman is ready to go.
How do you have sex on camera?
You’ve got to be present in the moment when you’re doing it in front of a camera. You can’t let yourself get stuck in your head because that’s when you’ll run into problems. I like to practice meditation as a way to help keep myself present and I’ll usually take 10 minutes to myself before a scene just to meditate and calm my mind. I’m also a big believer in practicing gratitude so your ego doesn’t get involved. I remember reading one hilarious tweet that summed this idea up really well: “If I’m ever getting a blowjob and I’m not thinking ‘holy shit I’m getting a blowjob! This is amazing!’ then somebody please slap me”
Confidence plays a key role, but confidence comes from experience combined with competence. Whenever you’re with a new partner, take it as an opportunity to learn about her body, don’t rush it or get it over with as fast as possible, instead savour the moment and explore what really turns her on.
Focusing on your partner, not on yourself, is how you become a better lover and build the kind of confidence that allows you to f*ck on camera. Don’t be too serious about it though, have fun with it, laugh and tease each other if you want to, make it real, make it genuine.
Does it ever feel like work?
Don’t get me wrong, this job is amazing, but it’s still a job. I get paid to put on a performance, to be hard when the director says “action” and to cum when the director needs a pop shot. This isn’t about my pleasure, it’s about the viewers pleasure, so part of my job is to make HER look good, to allow the camera to capture as much of her raw sexuality as it can.
The best looking scenes come from having genuine chemistry and connection with your co-star. So when she’s enjoying herself, when she is totally lost in the moment and has let herself go, that’s when you get some incredibly hot porn.

What’s one of the most memorable shoots you’ve done?
This industry has given me the opportunity to explore all kinds of sexual fantasies I never would have even considered in my private life. I remember filming a scene with Kim Cums back in Australia where I got to play a Priest who was being seduced by a nun in a confessional booth.
The scene ended with me ejaculating into her hands, dipping my thumb in my own jizz and drawing a cross on her forehead with it while I blessed her. Now I have a thing for nuns wearing red lipstick.
