Aaron Carter Opens Up About Bipolar Disorder And Schizophrenia Diagnoses

After a rough few years dealing with drug abuse and a DUI arrest, Aaron Carter recently opened up about his mental illnesses and how he’s treating them.

The “Aaron’s Party” singer revealed in an appearance on The Doctors that he’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, manic depression, and anxiety. He also shared that he’s been treating those conditions with an assortment of prescription drugs, including xanax, seroquel, and hydroxyzine.

In a clip exclusively shared with TMZ, Carter opens up about his diagnoses and medications.

“This is my reality,” he’s seen saying in the clip, holding up a plastic bag filled with pill cylinders.

At the end of the clip, Carter is seen defending his sobriety. “I haven’t taken any opiates,” he says. “Oh no no no. I did. Because I got my teeth done. I got six crowns. So I had to take hydrocodone.”

Carter’s appearance on The Doctors is the first in a two-part interview, with the other parts focusing on his mother and her own struggle with alcohol dependency. It’s not the first time Carter has appeared on The Doctors; back in 2017, he did an interview where he addressed his gaunt appearance and use of pills, and even took a drug test on TV.
