Ever since it debuted at Sundance, Zac Efron’s Ted Bundy movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile has been dominating the news cycle. Some have said it glorifies the serial killer, while this reviewer disagrees. But no matter which side you fall on, everyone wants to know when the movie will air to a mass audience.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix purchased EWSEAV for $9 million after a bidding war with STX and Lionsgate. Now, the wait to find out when when the streaming service will drop EWSEAV is finally over.
Netflix, which also aired The Ted Bundy Tapes, has finally set the release date for May 3. They reportedly may also be planning some type of theatrical release in order to give Zac a better chance in next year’s awards season. If you’re buying into the hype, the High School Musical star may be able to swing a win or two.
