Youngest Siblings Are The Funniest, Finds Study

Hands up if you have an annoying younger brother or sister. *Raises hand*

We have further bad news: a study has found that younger siblings are the more likely to launch a comedy career. And the worst bit? They know it.

According to a poll by YourGov, the youngest kids in the family saw themselves as being the clown in the house while elder siblings felt they had more responsibility to be successful and organised.

The research, which investigated the personalities of the youngest and eldest children in UK-based families, found vast differences in character.

True to form, middle children were completely left out of the study.

“Splitting out the first and last born siblings in British families with more than one child ( 86 per cent of the population), a clear divide in personality traits emerges,” reads the study.

“The most significant difference is in feeling the burden of responsibility – most ( 54 per cent) first borns say they are more responsible than their siblings, compared to 31 per cent of last borns.

“Younger siblings, on the other hand, are more likely to say they are more funny ( 46 per cent compared to 36 per cent of elder siblings), more easy going and more relaxed.”

Not only are they funnier, but they were more likely to be favoured by your parents. Just another reason to hate them…
