Super DJ Steve Aoki Never Skips Leg Day

Then there are public figures like Steve Aoki. The EDM giant has made fitness an integral part of his lifestyle, including that of his public-facing persona. Aoki maintains a strict commitment to his workouts at home and on the road, documenting his progress both to inspire and engage with his fans. The DJ first shared his outlook on fitness with Men’s Health back in 2018, when he would often challenge his fans to complete his Aoki Bootcamp Workouts—and now, two years later, not much has changed.

Aoki still uses challenges as a favourite source of fitness motivation. He sets marks for himself, his friends, and his fans—and holds himself accountable. “I love creating challenges to obtain and reach goals,” he told the MH crew in his self-filmed video. “One challenge I recently did was to drop to 10 percent body fat. By doing that I had to change a lot of the structures of my life, when it comes to my diet and how hard I was working out.”

Aoki took some time to welcome us into his home gym, which he named “Aoki’s Playhouse” (complete with trampolines and a foam pit) to walk us through one of his typical bootcamp-style workouts. “Because I like to share my workouts with my fans and the people that follow me on social media, I like to do as much bodyweight workouts as possible.”

Here, he leads you through a simple leg day session that doesn’t require any gear. Aoki says that he wants everyone to stay active and healthy, especially if they’re stuck at home—but he has one major piece of advice: “Never skip leg day.”
