Want A New Job? Shave Your Beard

While women may be fans of facial hair, unfortunately your prospective employer won’t, new research finds.

A new study published in the The Journal of Social Psychology and conducted by psychologists from Rollin College in Florida suggests that a clean-shaven look will help you land a job.

Recruiting 1000 volunteers to judge the faces of dozens of men, participants found that facial hair reflected a lack of warmth as well as an inability to get along with colleagues.

“Our findings have implications for candidates for jobs in which being perceived as less warm may decrease their appeal,” wrote lead researcher Marc Fetscheri.

The same research also suggests that wearing a tie or glasses could improve your chances of succeeding in a job.
