Sebastian Stan Is Absolutely Shredded Now

Ready for some #fitspo? Actor Sebastian Stan has shared his first ever gym selfie, and it’s pretty damn impressive.

The 36-year-old actor might have stayed a lot more covered up in the Avengers movies than his co-stars Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, but he’s taking his superhero duties seriously as he prepares to shoot his new Marvel show, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Stan, who trains with Men’s Health fitness advisor Don Saladino, is looking absolutely ripped.

“After 7 years with @donsaladino I caught a good day, sucked it up and finally posted this,” Stan wrote in the caption. “Been working with this guy through years of self judgement and mental wars when it comes to fitness and LIFE, and TODAY I’m giving myself a break and acknowledging the hard work we’ve done for @355movie (and this other small thing we got comin’ ????) ! Proud of what we’ve accomplished pal! Love you. And thank you.”

Stan isn’t the only guy who’s felt reluctance to share his personal fitness progress on social media, or battled with “self judgement” and “mental wars” when it comes to body image; 33 per cent of young men aged 18 to 34 have said that they feel pressure to look good online, and seeing “perfect” male bodies in media can take a mental toll.

It certainly looks like Stan has managed to push through that self-doubt, and he should be more than pleased with the results. His work with Saladino, the go-to trainer for superhero body transformations, has been a long road. “For me it has been a thrill to watch Seb evolve, not just aesthetically but they way that he moves now is completely different than when we started six years ago,” Saladino told Men’s Health last year when he broke down the pair’s workout plan ahead of the release of Avengers: Infinity War.

Saladino has worked with Shazam star Zachary Levi, Deadpoolstar Ryan Reynolds, X-Men veteran Hugh Jackman, and Hellboy star David Harbour. He’s also the brains behind the Men’s Health Superhero Shred program, which condenses Saladino’s Hollywood transformations into a plan that anyone can try—if they’re up to the challenge.

“A four-week transformation is possible,” Saladino says. “But it’s not easy.”
