The Crazy, New Way Men Are Curing Their Erectile Dysfunction

How far would you be willing to go to, um, inject some vitality into your sex life?

Well, a recent study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine has found that a cohort of men suffering erectile dysfunction experienced significant improvements in their erection strength when they were given injections of onabotulinum toxin A – otherwise known as botox.

For the estimated 40 per cent of men who will suffer some form of erectile dysfunction by the age of 40, according to the Cleveland Clinic in the US, the study is equal parts exciting and terrifying.

Scientists theorise that, given botox works by weakening the muscles and nerves it targets, injecting it into a penis improves blood flow, thus aiding in the maintenance of a strong erection.
