Sometimes, you can’t stomach another post-workout shake. But you need a good dose of protein within an hour or two of lifting to optimize muscle growth. 

For those times, this peanut protein snack bar recipe created by Coconut & Bliss and Healthy Luxe, for Pic’s Peanut Butteris here to help. Dump all the ingredients in a bowl, stir like hell, shape them into bars, and then chow down. Here’s the recipe.

Ingredients

1 cups oats

1 cup cashews, almonds and/or macadamias, roughly chopped 

1/2 cup buckinis 

1/4 cup mixed seeds 

1/4 cup chia seeds 

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup raw honey

1/3 cup Pic’s Peanut Butter – smooth or crunchy

3 tbsp coconut oil, melted

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees C.

  2. Combine all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Then add honey, peanut butter and coconut oil, mix well.

  3. Spread bar mixture into a greased and lined baking tin, bake for 15 minutes. 

  4. Allow to cool. 

  5. Cut into small bars and drizzle with dark chocolate and/or peanut butter. 

  6. Drizzle with raw chocolate and peanut butter (optional).

  7. Serve and enjoy or store in an airtight container.
