Pregnancy is one of life’s greatest joys and provides some of the happiest moments for any expectant couple. That’s why pregnancy photoshoots were created, to document the miracle of creating life. Pregnancy photoshoots have experienced a resurgence lately thanks to many recent celebrity births and the efforts made by famous couples to announce the arrival of their children in extreme style. Beyonce’s 2017 effort (a photo of her in a veil cradling her pregnant belly) became one of the top 10 most liked photos on Instagram.
One Boston local has taken this concept to a whole other level, recreating some classic pregnancy looks in the lead up to the birth of his own child. Nick Roberts, along with his mate and photographer Stephen Cwiok, sought to capture the essence of a pregnancy shoot, scouting cliche locations and reimagining traditional modeling poses with hilarious results. And as for the baby bump? The gents hit up drive through, big time.
Speaking to Unilad, the lads explained their project and what led to the hilarious photoshoot. “After finding out my girlfriend and I were pregnant, Stephen jokingly suggested that we do a photo shoot in the same style of a maternity shoot. After talking more about it, we decided that we should follow through with it, do the shoot and not tell my girlfriend. So, one day Stephen came to my house, picked me up, and off we were.”
Nick and Stephen, who are actually avid gym goers and body building enthusiasts, had to push through in order to commit to their art. “We went straight to McDonalds and ordered an absurd amount of food that I had to slam into my face hole. I had 2 McDoubles, a McChicken, a four-piece chicken nugget, two chocolate chip cookies, and a medium Dr Pepper. If I’m being completely honest, the awful cramps from the double cheeseburgers brought me so much closer to the pregnancy. Now, I’ll never know what being in labor feels like, but I feel in my heart it can’t be too far away from eating a lot of fast food. I’m truly blessed to have had this eye-opening experience.”
