Another day, another record broken. And this one is just as impressive as Eliud Kipchoge’s sub 2-hour marathon run.

Georgian Olympic weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze has recorded the heaviest clean and jerk captured on film.

Appropriately nicknamed ‘The Large Man’, Talakhadze managed a lift of 267 kilograms. Although the effort isn’t acknowledged as a record because it wasn’t attempted at a sanctioned competition, it’s still the heaviest lift caught on camera.

The Footage was shared on the Instagram account hookgrip.

See the incredible lift below.

The 6’6″ giant had previously broken the record at the 2019 IWF Weightlifting World Championships where he set a clean and jerk record of 264kg. At the same competition, he also broke the world record for the snatch, lifting a weight of 220kg.

Along with his success in the championships, the 26-year-old won gold at the 2016 Olympics in 2016 in the Men’s +105kg category.

Currently training in Batumi, Georgia, next up for Talkhadze is the 2019 European Weightlifting Championships.

We wouldn’t be surprised if he comes very close to 300kg in the near future.
