The New ‘Deadpool 2’ Trailer Is Here, and Boy Does Josh Brolin Look Jacked

After Ryan Reynolds teased Deadpool 2 with a Flashdance-inspired Instagram post, 20th Century Fox dropped a brand new Deadpool 2trailer that covers all of your Merc With The Mouth needs. There’s violence, meta humour, a little more violence, and even an on-point dig at Warner Brothers’ straight-up embarrassing attempt to remove Henry Cavill’s moustache for Justice League.

The real highlight here, though, is a jacked-up Josh Brolin as the metal-armed mutant Cable. In classic comic book fashion, the character’s backstory is a complicated mix of time travel and telekinesis. In the trailer, he’s the badass to Reynold’s smart-ass. “People think they understand pain, but they have no concept of it,” Brolin growls. “What’s the most pain you’ve ever felt?”

The actor himself clearly understands the concept of pain, at least when it comes to the gym. At 49 years old, Brolin has been putting in serious work to get as jacked as the original comic book character, who made his first appearance in the mid-1980s, during an era when things like “proper human dimensions” were just a loose guideline.

In addition to Zazie Beetz making an appearance as the ass-kicking X-Force member Domino, the new footage offers up one hell of a surprise appearance: at one point, Deadpool strides on to the back of an aircraft, flanked on his right by Domino and on his left by…someone who definitely looks a whole lot like Terry Crews. (Crews has now been confirmed to appear, although it’s anyone’s guess as to what his role will be.)

The Deadpool sequel debuts May 18. Until then, check out the ab workout that got Ryan Reynolds ripped for the blockbuster.
