But although it might seem like a move your ancestors would be familiar with, it turns out the ball slam requires a bit of technique.

“For our setup, we want to make sure our feet are in line with our shoulders,” says Men’s Health Fitness Director Todd Liubinskas.
“As we come down to pick up the ball, we’re gonna drive the ball up, slam it down, let it bounce once and catch it.”
