A steady diet of curls and crunches may help you look good in the gym, but when it comes to changing out of your training gear things can get a little tricky. With some help from Greater Western Sydney Giants’ Phil Davis and Bobby Hill, we showcase ways to make the most of that glorious rig of yours, whatever shape it takes.

Thirty-year-old Phil Davis was the first signing for GWS in 2012. Since then, his tall, wiry frame has helped him become one of the AFL’s best defenders – while also enabling him to rock a trench coat like few others.

As for Bobby – more than just an electrifying forward with a penchant for high-flying marks, 21-year-old Hill demonstrated his artistic abilities when he designed the club’s Indigenous round jersey in 2020. Here, he adds ‘model’ to his growing repertoire of talents, demonstrating ways to style a more muscular physique.

Phil wears Trench ($2850) and shoes ($825) both by Bally; knit ($775) by Z Zegna; pants ($379) by Hugo Boss.

Keep it simple

You need little more than a plain T-shirt to emphasise a muscular frame.
