See All The Fits From Spanish Footballer Héctor Bellerín's H&M Collab
H&M has revealed their newest collaboration with no other than Spanish international footballer and the vice-captain of Arsenal FC, Héctor Bellerín.
Celebrating Bellerín and the brand's commitment to the environment, the clothes on offer will be entirely made from sustainably sourced materials, with sustainability considered in the design process at every stage.
"Sustainability is something deeply ethical to me and not just an environmental issue. It's a daily approach to life. I definitely think how we affect our surroundings and how we treat each other as humans should be handled with the same care, same empathy, and same respect," explains Bellerín. "We should not put our creative freedom or greed first when there are many other ways — even though they might be more difficult or expensive to achieve — that enable us to create the same product. Also, it’s a way to show the consumer that you can make beautiful and meaningful pieces from recycled yarns and materials that have been worn before."
Some of the pieces available include oversized streetwear and utilitarian pieces like hoodies, sweatshirts and Tees printed with positive slogans such as “Live With Purpose” and “To Protect Our Future Together”, alongside a graphic of a planet Earth in action.
"The collection is a very relaxed, genderless and neutral mix of colours and fits that can complement anyone’s wardrobe. The message, the transparency of the collection, and the use of recycled and circular materials is what makes it more sustainable. Activism through clothes is also a way of protesting and walking in the right direction," he adds. "Fashion is like a conversation, and this collection starts a dialogue about how fashion should act for a better, more sustainable future. For me, style and sustainability go hand in hand.
"Everything is loose and comfortable. I like to be comfortable in my clothes and prefer wearing something less fitted day to day. We've really been able to do that and at the same time make a beautiful collection."
The collection is available in selected stores and online from February 18. Swipe through to see all the pieces available.
