It’s probably been a while since you last heard ‘Sk8er Boi’, but we suggest you be very careful when you look up punk artist Avril Lavigne on Google.

According to Cybersecurity company McAfee, the ‘Complicated’ singer is the celebrity that will most likely to lead internet users to websites infected with malware and viruses.

The stats are alarming. Data reveals that users searching Avril have a 14.5 per cent chance of landing on an infected website. Even worse, if you’re looking to download her music for free, the stat jumps to 22 per cent.

Other notable celebrities who could lead you to harmful websites are Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Calvin Harris and Katy Perry.

If you ever see anything suspect on your computer, best practice is not to click and always make sure your internet’s security is up to date.
