Former UFC Star Dies After Horrific Boxing K.O.

In what is a devastating blow to the fighting community, former UFC star Tim Hague has tragically passed away after suffering a brutal knockout during a boxing fight.

While Hague managed to get to his feet and walk from the ring unassisted after the loss, the 34-year-old reportedly fell seriously ill backstage and was rushed to hospital where he was placed on life support.

According to a statement posted on Facebook by Hague’s family, the fighter passed away on Monday morning (AEST).

“It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today,” the statement said. “He was surrounded by family, listening to his favourite songs. We will miss him with (us) so greatly. We ask for privacy during this difficult time.”

Hague accepted the fight against Adam Braidwood at short notice, but was ultimately knocked out in the second round when Braidwood delivered a brutal left-right combination that sent Hague crashing to the mat.

As seen in the video blow, the 34-year-old’s head bounced off the canvas where he remained motionless before the referee stopped the fight.
