About: With four-time world champion professional boxer Danny Green heavily involved in developing the concept, you know you’ll be in for a gruelling workout at 12RND Fitness. Their aim? To replicate the physical demands of a 12 round championship fight, with 12 x 3-minute rounds and 30 seconds rest in between. It’s not just boxing – they’re all about conditioning attendees to reach their peak ‘fighting shape’ and that includes strength training. 

4. Corporate Fitness Centre

Difficulty: Beginners to Advanced.

About: Ever wondered if you could cut it in the ring? Then this is the gym for you. Corporate Fitness Centre not only offers boxing workouts and CrossFit classes, they also conduct an an intensive 12-week training program. After the three-months, be prepared to step into the ring for a full amateur boxing bout against a fellow first timer.

5. City Gym 

Location: Darlinghurst, Sydney NSW.

Difficulty: Beginners to Advanced.

About: City Gym, run by professional boxer Ben Savva, is one of the few places where you can really get your technique down pat. While there are more fitness-focused classes available, be prepared to face some seriously tough athletes in the fight class – think pad work, sparring, technique drills.

About: Run by former MMA fighter Larry Papadopolous, Boxing Works is the place to be if you’re looking to get your hands dirty and your knees bruised. Apart from exchanging blows, Boxing Works also offers Brazilian jujitsu, wrestling and Muay Thai. It’ll get you seriously fit, but don’t expect a simple HIIT class.

9. Bondi Boxing Club

Location: Waterloo, Sydney NSW.

About: Once based in the beach-side suburb it’s named after, Bondi Boxing Club now calls Waterloo home. Known for housing pro fighters, this is a place for those who take their fighting seriously. Fitness classes are available but be prepared to train in the company of no-nonsense competitors.

About: While Training Grounds caters to beginners and will see your fitness skyrocket, this is one place where you should have a real interest in learning technique. Like previous gyms mentioned, Training Grounds also offers classes in Boxing Jujitsu and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).
