5 Autumn Style Trends to Watch

Ever feel like the year is travelling way too fast? Sadly summer’s over already but don’t let the rest of the year go by in the blink of an eye – update your wardrobe now for your trendiest season yet. As the temperatures cool dial up the heat with the five trends set to rule autumn.

CORDUROY

One of the most notable trends of 2019, corduroy is officially making a comeback. We’ve seen glimpses of it in 2018, but the material is set to return to our shelves in Autumn. Searches for corduroy are up 507 per cent on Pinterest already this year.

SPORTSWEAR

Sporty accents are an Autumn staple. Think racer stripes and athletic accessories that will add a touch of sporty flair to your look.

CROPPED

It’s time to bring back longer pants with this Autumnal weather, play with your relaxed look by cropping your pants with sneakers or loafers.

SCARVES

Street style fashion just took an unexpected turn. This season you’ll see different scarves from prints to plain look for something that’s not too chunky that will layer well.

SUSTAINABLE FASHION

The Ethical Fashion Forum defines sustainable fashion as “an approach to the design, sourcing and manufacture of clothing which maximises and benefits people and communities while minimising the impact on the environment,” in Autumn we’re set to see an abundance of brands doing their bit to affect change.

VELVET

Did you get the warm and fuzzies watching the 91st Academy Awards? It’s no wonder with many of our favourite celebs rocking the red carpet in colourful velvet suits. From Jason Mamoa to Michael B Jordan the velvet look suits most body shapes and can add a velvety touch of fun to your usual look.
